MOBA presents new technologies for machine control and inductive transmission
- iVT Expo in Cologne: MOBA showcases sensor technology, Smart Positioning Controller and HMI solutions for precise machine control in Hall 1, Booth 6210.
- New: Inductive power and data transmission replaces connectors.
- Broad sensor portfolio: Precise motion, tilt and depth measurement in mobile machines.
The performance of modern off-highway machines is driven by powerful technologies inside – from sensors and controllers to HMIs and software. These components are at the core of iVT Expo on June 11 and 12, 2025, in Cologne. MOBA Mobile Automation will also be present, showcasing its portfolio for mobile applications in Hall 1, Booth 6210.
The expert in mobile automation will present, among other things, a powerful Smart Positioning Controller, high-precision sensor solutions, robust HMI systems and customizable signal lights. As a trade fair highlight, the Limburg-based company introduces a new solution for inductive power and data transmission.
INDUCTIVE TRANSMISSION REDUCES WEAR AND MAINTENANCE
Connectors are among the typical weak points of mobile machinery: contamination, moisture, and mechanical stress can lead to contact issues, failures, and increased maintenance effort. MOBA Mobile Automation has developed an innovative technology that enables contactless, bidirectional transmission of power and data between machine components. The solution is based on inductive transmission, a principle also used in smartphone charging and medical implants.
As a result, failure-prone connectors become obsolete. This not only simplifies the installation and replacement of interchangeable components, but also significantly reduces wear, maintenance effort, and downtime. With a data rate of at least 1 MB/s, the new solution achieves a performance level comparable to conventional connectors.
MORE PRECISE MACHINE CONTROL WITH SMART POSITIONING CONTROLLER
MOBA presents a powerful solution for highly precise positioning and motion detection of mobile machines with the Smart Positioning Controller (MSPC). The controller features a large project memory, integrates machine position and data from various sensors, and processes them based on a stored, machine-specific kinematic model. This is enabled in part by the MSPC’s dual-RTK GNSS technology.
SENSOR TECHNOLOGY FOR STABLE AND PRECISE MACHINE MOVEMENTS
In Cologne, the sensor specialist will also present a selection of its sensor solutions. The IMU-6 (Inertial Measurement Unit) enables precise detection of tilt, acceleration and rotational movements in real time. Its six degrees of freedom allow highly accurate motion tracking and ensure stable measurement data even in dynamic machine environments.
The AGRI-SONIC ultrasonic sensor enables non-contact and wear-free measurement of actual working depth in agricultural soil cultivation. Representing a new generation of tilt sensors, the MSSH (MOBA Slope Sensor Hybrid) combines two measurement principles to ensure particularly stable tilt values.
Visitors can also expect modular HMI systems and robust displays, as well as the CAN-LIGHT signal lamp, which ensures clear machine communication with freely configurable texts, symbols and colors.
